Local Coffee Shops Serve Fresh Focus Groups

So the other day we were working on a new feature.  We like to build "just enough", which is to say "build less" of a feature, so that we can get it out into the wild and get feedback from users.  We thought, "why build code to test when we can could just talk to [...]

How The Beatles: Rock Band Saved Our Last Release

Stopped back by the office to help with the evening deployment of our eBay import the other night, and the deployment wasn't working at all. We troubleshot it down to an issue connecting to GitHub, an open source collaboration we use for code control, probably because of a maintenance activity they were working on. [...]

Campbell is a wonderful home for an entrepreneur, with [...]

The future of online bookkeeping is…. Outright.com

After weeks of research and planning, we are starting to roll out changes to our site to reflect our new name: Outright.com.   Here's the new logo:

You may notice some intermittent strangeness as we change from GoBootstrap to Outright, but we should have everything switched over soon.
A special thanks to Jonathan, Ian, Curt, Erica, Sasi, [...]

New office space

Bootstrap has moved into a new office.  We're now located in downtown Campbell, California at 33 N. First Street, Suite B.  As is fitting, it's big on whiteboard space, short on overhead, and across the parking lot from Starbucks:-)
Thanks much to our new landlord, Todd.  He runs a really cool eco-friendly car and scooter business [...]

Released: Improved security and performance

Based once again on some great customer feedback, today we released a number of enhancements to improve the Bootstrap experience.
The biggest change was the roll out of SSL, which stands for Secure Socket Layer. This technology encrypts the information that is passed back and forth between your browser and Outright's servers (including the business [...]

Bootstrap (Outright) is now on Twitter

http://twitter.com/outright
We'll continue to use the blog for official announcements and relevant content, but we thought we'd provide folks with a bit more visibility into some of our (random and not so random) thoughts as we work to make accounting and bookkeeping easier for the self-employed.

By popular demand – export your individual transactions

One of the most common questions we've received in our first couple of months in the market has been whether customers can export their information if they decide they don't like the experience (or if we start charging too much money.) When we launched, we supported the ability to export your income and [...]

Outright: Simple Bookkeeping Online

Outright was created after watching a number of small businesses, like ourselves, struggle to capture all of their business deductions, often piecing together a number of different solutions. We consistently found that business owners spent too much time and effort on the least enjoyable part of running one's own business. So we built Outright. The goal is to keep it as simple as possible, helping entrepreneurs track all of their income and expenses to get their taxes done accurately.
