Local Coffee Shops Serve Fresh Focus Groups

So the other day we were working on a new feature.  We like to build "just enough", which is to say "build less" of a feature, so that we can get it out into the wild and get feedback from users.  We thought, "why build code to test when we can could just talk to [...]

Outright Raises $5.5M with Sequoia Capital

Simple, Non-cluttered, Accessible Bookkeeping

I’m two and a half years out of college with a degree in Political Science and dashed dreams of teaching college thanks to the GRE . In that time I chased down four different jobs and honestly got tired of chasing the next opening in my field. You see, I'm from the non-profit world, [...]

How The Beatles: Rock Band Saved Our Last Release

Stopped back by the office to help with the evening deployment of our eBay import the other night, and the deployment wasn't working at all. We troubleshot it down to an issue connecting to GitHub, an open source collaboration we use for code control, probably because of a maintenance activity they were working on. [...]

Dustin M. Wax Joins the Outright Community

I am an academic by training and by my regular employment, teaching anthropology and gender studies and publishing papers for the academic press. But despite what you may have heard, there's not a lot of money in academia, especially for an adjunct like me, so a couple of years ago I took the plunge [...]

How much money is coming in and how much is going out

I can honestly say my junior year in high school changed the course of my life. My mother's entire family worked in the medical profession in some way and growing up surrounded by doctors, nurses and pharmacists, I had always planned to do the same. My junior year in high school I had [...]

Welcome to Campbell, CA

With Estimated Taxes behind us we thought we'd share a brief reprieve, along with our excitement for our new office in downtown Campbell. Just a few weeks ago, we moved to a beautiful, historic building on E. Campbell Ave. with tremendous character both inside and out.
Campbell is a wonderful home for an entrepreneur, with [...]

Outright: Simple Bookkeeping Online

Outright was created after watching a number of small businesses, like ourselves, struggle to capture all of their business deductions, often piecing together a number of different solutions. We consistently found that business owners spent too much time and effort on the least enjoyable part of running one's own business. So we built Outright. The goal is to keep it as simple as possible, helping entrepreneurs track all of their income and expenses to get their taxes done accurately.
