By popular demand – add your own categories to Outright.com

income and expense categoriesMany of our customers have been requesting the ability to track income and expenses according to their own categories.  And we certainly understand - the default list of Schedule C categories leaves much to be desired ("Depletion" anyone?)

Today we released the ability to add your own categories.  Just go to the Category Settings page by clicking on the Settings tab and then Categories, or clicking the "edit" link next to the Category label at the top of the Income or Expenses tab.

Once you're on the Categories page, click on the "Add a Category" button and type in the name of the category you'd like to add.

Want to change the name of one of the categories you added?  No problem - simply click on the name to make it editable:-)

Note: for the purposes of your Schedule C, all custom categories will roll up to either "Other income" or "Other expense".
